SIA 2009 part 2

Two nights in Vegas two hotel rooms. I had a plan and stuck with it. Stay where you party and eliminate unnecessary cab rides. Of course I also had the help of very generous friends letting me stay in their rooms.
Night one

Night Two

Annie Fast in the green room looking gripped and glamorous before the show. There were talk of some technical difficulties, but Slaughterface handled it as usual.

My ex coworkers Jake Blauvelt, Bryan Knox and Pat Moore saved me a seat at their front and center table for the awards. Nice view for the show, Jake and Pat got robbed and left empty handed. I'm not sure why people are interested in seeing the same person win multiple awards. Maybe I'm just biased.

Peter Line was one of the presenters. I miss you too Pete.

TheseGuys rip way harder than me

Stopped for gas and a burger in Baker, CA on the drive home.

Stoked to be home. Time to get to work.

SIA 2009 (Leaving Las Vegas)

Well it has come and gone. I made it out to Las Vegas for the last SIA show ever to be held in Vegas. I guess never say never, but the plan is to move the SIA show to Denver, CO. Some people are bummed, but I am okay with this. Although, the chance of getting a free ride out to the show is probably not going to happen anymore. My camera was not used too much on my trip, primarily because my left hand was occupied with a delicious beverage and my right hand was handing out high fives and hand shakes. Here is what I got.
Austria Meets Nor Cal. So Awesome.

I got to hang out with some old Reno friends
Robbie Sell and Stephen Duke.

The only Rule my wife gave me before I left for Vegas, was that I wasn't allowed to go to a strip club with the Taylors.

I'm pretty sure Rome's decision for the Hunter S. Thompson look this year was an excective decision from the top. Rome's President Paul Maravetz pulling the look off the best with minimal effects.

Big Buck Hunter (I shot the cow)

So, My buddy Doug told me the other day that Buck Hunter was a pretty fun game and I should give it a try. As luck would have it, Tanya and I found ourselves in a bar Saturday night and low and behold, they had buck hunter pro. Tanya kicked my ass.

Cobrands or coboring

In my little bubble of a world, Cobrands or colabs seem to be all the rage in efforts to turn a profit or do something cool. I'm usually unimpressed. However, I recently came across a cobrand that seriously rules!

Sledding

We did some serious sledding over the holidays. The stand up sledding wasn't the best idea.

Show Your Tits

Back in 2003 I had the opportunity of a life time to go intern for Rome Snowboards. During my internship I designed the Rome Artifact, which went on to be a popular board in the Rome line. Anyway, this past year, Rome had a shop kid contest, and the winner got their idea put on an Artifact. The idea was to think up a phrase that would work well with the new Artifact graphic. Well, low and behold I won. Not being a shop kid, they didn't honor it. Luckily some other shop kid had the same idea so the board was made anyway. Today, the good people at Rome SDS sent me out the board! It's funny, the past year I have been working on Forum snowboards, and to this date I have not received one of them. You would think after a year of hard work, they would at least send me one. I guess they are too busy licking their wounds and counting whatever pennies they have left. Against'em

Enjoy After The Adventure

I headed out to LA last night by way of train, Tanya was going to pick me up at Union Station and we were going to see our friend Samm's new show. I had no idea how awesome the whole adventure was going to be. Lets get down to brass tact's here. I decided to hop the train at the Orange station, I figured it would be the best location for picking up the car later. So the car got parked and I had time to head over to Rod's Liquor to get a delicious beverage for my ride up to LA. I had no idea the selection I would come across. Pure awesome! Go to Rod's and treat yourself. They got you covered. At first glance, I didn't even notice this sixer of tall boys, the packaging was so good.

Anyway, got up to LA easy breezy and headed over to the UCB for the show.
Straight Genius. Check it out.

Meanwhile, while we were being tragically hip up in Silver Lake, my car was being taunted by this '65 Falcon. Good lookin' parking lot.

Bond 'd

I headed down to Laguna Beach yesterday to do a little modeling for the Bond Catalog. The day was another beautiful day around here and by the photos, you wouldn't think my day would consist of snowboard outerwear. Anyway, it was a good time meeting up with the dudes at Bond as well as some other surprise guests.

Method?

My Buddy Skyler sent this to me today, it's located on the 405 Freeway. You would think that between Mammoth and DC, they would be able to have the guy tweak out a better method than that. Not too mention in this day and age, he would be going a little bigger. As shown by Peter Line here:

Alley Days

My buddy Ryan Young came over the other day to shoot some photos of me for an upcoming interview. We had this idea of getting some of the early light shining down my alley with me and my car. However, we made some coffee and shot the shit until about 11 or so, we kind of missed the good time. The photos came out pretty good though. Of course it would have been better if I would have washed the Malibu. Such neglect man. No job and I can't even keep the ol' ride clean. check out that borrowed time piece on my wrist. True craftsmanship.
